Love it:) thank you Vince, Jerry & Pat for putting this together & thank you Alyssa for posting it on the blog so we can all leave a comment about our favorite memory of "swinging with Grama" (that is sitting on the glider) My favorite memory is also the most current, it was in the morning before it got to hot, Grama, Charles & I would take our coffee out on the porch to sit & laugh or just be silent & enjoy each others company or trying to guess who would be our next visitor! I cherish those memories now & forever.
I remember sitting on the glider with Grandma, eating a bowl of "hard pack" DQ. We would play cars. Grandma would pick one direction and I the other and we would count cars to see who would "win". Grandma could make a game out of just about anything. Thanks for the post Vince.
I sure miss her. Look at the sparkle in those eyes! We should all remember to take time out to do a little more porch sitting in her honor. The picture and poem are a nice tribute to her. Thanks
VINCE C SAID... I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT EVERY MORNING I GO OUTSIDE AROUND 6:00AM AND I JUST GLIDE FOR A LITTLE WHILE, BEFORE GOING OFF TO WORK. IT IS SO RELAXING AND IT MAKES YOU THINK BACK OF ALL THE GREAT TIMES AT GRANDMA'S. I MISS THOSE TIMES. I DO HAVE TO TELL A STORY ABOUT THE GLIDER. I PAINTED THE GLIDER BROWN, BUT NO MATTER WHAT I DO THE PAINT COMES OFF AND THE BATTLESHIP GREY COLOR IS THERE. SO GRANDMA THE COLOR STAYS BATTLESHIP GREY "YOU WIN". THERE IS NOT A ONE OF US THAT DOES NOT HAVE MEMORIES OF BEING ON THE GLIDER SO I HOPE IT BRINGS BACK A GREAT MEMORY TO EVERYONE.
